Winter tires in Québec: what you need to know

In Québec, winter tires are mandatory from December 1 to March 15 for most passenger vehicles. Many drivers install them as soon as temperatures stay around 7 °C, because summer tire rubber hardens and grips less in the cold.

Use the seasonal changeover to have your tires checked for wear, pressure and balance. If your vehicle pulls to one side or vibrates, a 3D alignment may also be needed.

Five signs your brakes need attention

Brakes are the most important safety system in your vehicle. These signs should never be ignored:

  • A squealing or metallic noise when braking
  • Vibrations in the pedal or the steering wheel
  • A soft pedal or one that sinks
  • A brake or ABS warning light that stays on
  • A vehicle that pulls to one side, or fluid under the vehicle

Don't take chances with your brakes: have them inspected at the first sign.

Check engine light on: what should you do?

A check engine light that stays on means a system has detected a fault. It is not always an emergency, but ignoring it can turn a small problem into a costly repair.

If it flashes, or if the vehicle loses power, pull over safely and call us. An electronic scan reads the fault codes and quickly identifies the source of the problem.
